Gwynedd Beaches & Coast

Gwynedd coast and beaches

Gwynedd is in North West Wales and is known to most as Snowdonia.

This county covers Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia National Park and the Cambrian Coastline and it's here that you'll find the tallest mountains in England, a 200 mile shoreline of clean, sandy, beaches, majestic cliffs and areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty almost everywhere!

This national park is the place to be if you like outdoor activities like horse riding, water sports, exploring caves, cycling, walking, climbing, swimming, bird watching, golf, canoeing, caving or just being still and enjoying a breathtaking view. The beach at Trwyn is 5 miles long and Porthdinllaen - a fishing village - is just picture perfect. Endless miles of sand dunes stun the senses at Fairbourne beach So on the mouth of the Mawddach and they stretch further for miles to Bennar and Llandanwg - two quiet and more remote dune-backed beaches - then sweep into Harlech where you can explore the Castle and enjoy the sky, sand and sea. Black Rock Sands, with its rocky headland and pools, marks the start of the Llyn Peninsula. The beach is about two miles long and popular kitesurfers and picnickers. Criccieth beach has two smaller sand and pebble beaches, on a sunny, south-facing coast warmed by the waters of the Gulf Stream. Llanbedrog is perfect for family holidays with a National Trust beach, village and Abersocn close by for water sports and other amusements. In stark contrast is Porth Neigwl with its surf culture and the alternative monika of 'Hell's Mouth'! There are many beaches, bays, coves and headlands to explore here and over 150 attractions to choose from making it a wonderful spot for holidays.
