  • Warebeth beach is a large sandy beach with stone slabs on the western side of mainland Orkney. Whilst on the beach it is well worth looking for fish fossils.

The beach is named after the large amount of seaweed, or “ware” that can be found washed up. In the 18th and 19th Centuries harvesting the seaweed was big business.
