Wells beach combines a sand beach with a little town and fishing port. Although, the town name is Wells-Next-the-Sea it is nearly a mile from the open sea and beach.
Wells beach is part of a long stretch of beach, joining Holkham and is backed by sand dunes and pine woods.
You often have to walk some way to get to the sea but be careful as when the tide turns and starts to come in it can be very fast.
Facilities include toilets, cafe/restaurant, shop and slipway.
Dogs restricted all year round to parts of the beach.

Wells Beach Water quality
Samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as:
- Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
- Good: generally good water quality
- Sufficient: meets minimum standards
- Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
