Borth beach is sand with a pebble bank at the high tide mark. The beach is 3 miles long with rock pools and intersected by groynes that provide good natural wind breaks.
Swimming and surfing is safe on Borth beach but if you walk up towards Ynyslas beach and the estuary then it becomes unsafe due to the currents.
Facilities include parking and lifeguards in the summer.
Borth Beach is a Blue Flag Beach.

- Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
- Good: generally good water quality
- Sufficient: meets minimum standards
- Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
