  • Ruins of Red Castle. Access to the castle is possible but should be approached carefully as it is unstable.

    Built in the 12th Century, with a keep added in the 1300s.

    William the Lion (William I) used the castle while hunting and it stayed in royal hands until given by Robert the Bruce to the Earl of Ross in 1328. It suffered from attacks between 1579 and 1581.
