2015 UK Blue Flag Awards

It’s that time of the year when the Blue Flag beaches are announced. 2016 has seen 68 English beaches get the Blue Flag Award which is an increase of 7 from last year, whilst we still have 111, albeit with some changes, that received the Seaside Award, Keep Britain Tidy’s own seal of approval.

Cornwall claims the most awards with a total of 19 (11 Seaside Awards and 8 Blue Flags), closely followed by Torbay with 13 awards (10 Seaside Awards and 3 Blue Flags), Thanet with 10 awards (7 Blue Flag and 3 Seaside Awards), Tendring with 10 awards (3 Blue Flag and 7 Seaside Awards) and Southend on Sea with 10 awards (3 Blue Flag and 7 Seaside Awards).
