Sark, Sark, Guernsey, Channel Islands

Sark is part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey but is actually two islands, Greater Sark and Little Sark. The two parts are connected by a narrow strip called La Coupée which is 300 feet (91 m) long and has a drop of 330 feet (100 m) on each side.

The island is an area of 2.10 square miles (5.44 km2) and lies 6 miles east of Guernsey, 14 miles north west of Jersey, and some 20 miles from France.

Sark is one of the few remaining places in the world where cars are banned from roads and only tractors and horse-drawn vehicles are allowed.

Sark is also a special place for star gazing as you have very little light pollution and in 2011 was designated as a Dark Sky Community and the first Dark Sky Island in the world.
