Gosford Forest Park
Armagh, , UK
Gosford Forest Park is great for short and long stays as it offers caravan and camping sites as well as great days out in the countryside.
Established in 1958, visitors come here to enjoy nature and the many trails and paths that thread throughout the park estate. It used to belong to the Earls of Gosford who set up the woodlands, park and all the structures you’ll see on the estate as well as the Arboretum, mill ponds and the walled garden.
The Castle Path takes in the Arboretum and the oak plantation and then past the cafe where you can grab a drink and enjoy the sunshine. Greers Trail is short but really beautiful and takes you past the fort which is interesting.
There are other four mile trails taking you through the deer and rare breed enclosures or the woodlands and cycling is allowed making the trails suitable for all ages. Some of the trails are great for horse riding too. Ecotrails have been introduced and include orienteering.
