Monmouthshire Beaches & Coast

Monmouthshire coast and beaches

Monmouthshire is in South East Wales in the United Kingdom.

The largest town here is Abergavenny so you can really get away from it all whether you're after a busy, activity led break or a totally relaxing one!

Here you'll find some of the best golf courses in Wales and all attached to superb restaurants and hotels! History abounds with castles, gardens, market towns and quaint villages to explore. The county is known for its food. A gastronomic getaway where you can sample the range of locally raised produce and traditionally made dishes and confectionery.

If you like walking, take the Wales Coast Path that runs from Chepstow to Cardiff starting at Chepstow Castle. It takes you past harbours, coves, churches, castles and through wetlands - with over 1000 acres of wildlife habitat - and over rivers so you get to thoroughly enjoy the countryside in the county and then head off to one of many pubs for a tasty bite to eat.

Attractions to see in the area include:

  • Caerwent Roman Town
  • Chepstow Castle
  • The Kymin
  • Tintern Abbey
  • Dewstone Gardens and Grottoes
  • Caldicott Castle Museum
