Bridgend Beaches & Coast

Bridgend coast and beaches

Bridgend is a town in the county of Bridgend just West of Cardiff in Wales. It's a beautiful town and the whole area of Bridgend is naturally picturesque and has the advantage of being able to offer terrific coast line with superb clean, sandy beaches and town life with a riverside cafe culture as it's based on the Ogmore River!

Tourists come here to explore the pristine countryside and visit the prehistoric burial grounds, roman road at Crack Hill and the Roman Fort and harbour.

The coast line of Bridgend County is short but there are a number of gorgeous beaches there to enjoy all year round whether you're just walking the dog or having a day out sunbathing and building sandcastles with the kids!

There's a lot to see and do here. Merthyr Mawr is just two miles out of the town and it's the epitome of English rural countryside with quaint thatched cottages and frolicking lambs. Just beyond you'll find miles of tall sand dunes where parts of Lawrence of Arabia were filmed and further on, Ogmore with it's stepping stones over the river and the wonderful Castle.

Attractions to visit here include:

  • Abertillery & District Museum
  • Bedwellty House and Park
  • Caerphilly Castle
  • Dunraven Castle
  • Dewstow Gardens and Grottoes
  • Raglan Castle
