Selsey East Beach Reviews

Selsey East Beach -  02 Aug 2015 - By Anonymous -  Good family beach
Rating: 4  (location = , activites = , families = , relaxation = )

There is a huge car park, cost only £1.10 in summer, free out of season, so no need to park on the road.  Follow the P signs to 'East Beach'. There is lots of free space (apart from one day a year, in Lifeboat Week!) with toilets (clean), grass, nearby childrens' play area and cafe.  Also a pond with wildlife behind the car park if you get bored with the sea. Easy walking along the sea wall northwards to find a bit of beach to yourself, or head south for the pub and lifeboat station.  The beach is shingle, there's only sand at very low tide.  A lovely beach to spend the day at, with no real opportunity to spend a lot of money.  The toilets are free and the cafe is not expensive, even the pub is very reasonable.  As it's on the east side and sheltered from the prevailing south-westerlies often the sea is quite calm, so nice for children to play.  I've seen people swimming too.  There's a lovely walk to Pagham harbour for the energetic, but it's hard going once you leave the sea wall behind and start walking on the shingle. We couldn't believe how good this beach was and still can't understand why it attracts so few visitors.

Selsey East Beach -  28 Oct 2009 - By Anonymous -  Always love a visit to this beach

The family love this area of the coast and always pay a visit to East Beach. Have a walk along the sea front, buy some fresh crabs just landed, visit the lifeboat and finish with a pub meal in the Lifeboat Inn garden.
