Goodwick Sands Beach, Fishguard

Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK

Goodwick Sands beach has a grassy seafront area bordering the shore. This is called the Parrog and it was where the French laid down their arms after their abortive 'invasion' in 1797.

Until recently the sea and sand here was too foul for safe bathing but since improvements to sewage disposal it has become a clean and popular beach.
