The West Sands at St Andrews is a long stretch of sand backed by the famous Royal & Ancient Golf Club.
You may also recognise it as the beach was used for the famous opening sequence of Chariots of Fire.
The beach is sandy, stretches for 3 km (2 miles), is backed by large grass areas andsand dunes.
Multiple options to park along the full 3 km length. The more you head away from the town of St Andrews the less access to facilities. At points along the road you have walkways taking you across the dunes onto the beach itself.
We have no dog information for St Andrews West Sands beach.
