The hosts were lovely and really had thought of everything. It was perfect, with amazing attention to detail. The cottage was so cosy and had everything you could possibly need. It made a great base for our holiday and we were all a little sad to leave!
Miss Turner, North Yorkshire
,We were so overjoyed with our stay at The Old Bothy. You can clearly tell how much love and effort has gone into the refurbishment - the property was fab, we could not fault anything. The master bedroom looks quite small in the pictures online, they really do not do the room justice - a beautiful big room with exposed beams and high ceilings was such a pleasant surprise. We will most certainly be recommending and staying again at The Old Bothy. The owners really care about the guests and do the utmost to make sure you have a pleasant stay.
Miss Pond, Oxfordshire
,We had a lovely stay at The Old Bothy. The presentation and décor are to a very high standard throughout. We had a warm welcome from the owner who has put together a comprehensive list of attractions for families (and those without little ones) which kept us busy for our whole stay. The cottage has a wonderful mix of cosy features and attractive original features. Our 2 year old loved petting the farm dogs and watching the calves feeding. The play garden was ideal for letting off a bit of toddler steam too!
Mr Woolley, Cheshire
,A beautiful location, very central (we visited Penrith, Carlisle, Gretna Green and Keswick). The property has been converted to a high standard and the beds were comfortable. There is a lot of information from tourist areas locally, which is extremely helpful if you are not familiar with the area. A lovely relaxing break, hope to visit again soon.
Miss Hodgson, Merseyside
,The cottage was exceptionally comfortable, warm and very spacious. The location was great for visiting various locations in the Lakes.
Mrs Broadhurst, South Yorkshire
,We have enjoyed self catering family holidays for the last 30 years. The high quality of this accommodation is, however, by far the best we have encountered in all that time. The welcome, friendliness and care provided by the owners also added much to our holiday. The surrounding countryside and the quick and easy access to The Lake District enabled us to enjoy several walks as well as trips further afield.
,The accommodation was superb with a lovely play area for children which was enclosed next to the property. It was a fantastic setting on a farm which we all loved and had great access to the lakes for exploring. The owners made us feel quite at home and our son was very taken with their very friendly farm dogs. Cannot wait to come back.
Mrs Smith, Norfolk
,Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Owners were very friendly and helpful and the location of the house was really good to visit the Lakes and Scotland.
,Beautiful cottage, which exceeded our expectations. Perfect for a quiet getaway with everything you need. We were made to feel perfectly at home the moment we arrived and we would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.
Mr Hodge, Tyne and Wear
,The accommodation was of a very high standard. The farm location was great, the location was excellent, for the Lakes and also for the area to the North.
Mr Duncan, Fife
,The really warm welcome and the effort that the owner went to to ensure that we had everything we might need was really lovely.
Mrs Connick, Dumfries And Galloway
,From the outset the owners were fantastic hosts. The Old Bothy was the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Every little detail was taken care of. We had a super stay and we will be back as soon as we can. I highly recommend you do not miss this wonderful place.
Mr Watson, Greater Manchester
,Cannot fault The Old Bothy, it is one of the best ones we have stayed in and the owners had thought about every little detail to make your holiday perfect . The area was ideal as we easily accessed the Scottish Borders, the seaside or the Lake District , close by were a lot of walks and wildlife . The Old Bothy comes highly recommended
Mr & Mrs Gorrod,
,We appreciated the friendly manner in which we were greeted and shown the Cottage, which is exceptionally well-appointed. We thought that having a toilet on both floors is very convenient. We had a wonderful stay.
