Gateside is a former threshing barn which has been sympathetically converted to a high standard and is located in the Yorkshire village of Newton-upon-Rawcliffe near to Pickering. The property is an 'upside down' house and has three bedrooms (one double, one twin and one single) which with the addition of a family bathroom makes it suitable for five people. Also in the cottage, on the ground floor is a fitted kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is a courtyard with furniture and off road parking for two cars 30 metres away. Gateside is a charming base to discover the wide variety of attractions on offer in this beautiful part of Britain.

Delightful cottage in a lovely setting, perfect for exploring the North York Moors.
,The cottage was well presented with all amenities. It was spotlessly cleaned, nice and warm, and a pleasure to stay at. The kitchen was a highlight. The upside down arrangement worked very well and we all liked it. We were in a group of five adults and it worked well for us. We would certainly use it again if staying in the area as it is ideally placed for exploring the north York moors area. It was also very quiet. We were not disturbed at all by noise as the village is very quiet and there is little, if any, through traffic.
,The accommodation was excellent, and the village provided a good base for access to the rest of the area. The White Swan pub in the village was a joy, with good food and drink and wonderful friendly staff and locals.

,Just got back from a short break with my husband at Gateside which was excellent. We will definitely be returning. A quiet friendly village surrounded by beautiful countryside and a lovely cottage to return to at the end of the day.
